Murphy (or Mitri, as called by his foster family) is a 16 year old Sulfer Crested Cockatoo. He was surrendered by his owner who had run into some rough times and could no longer give him the care he needed. He is living at a wonderful foster home experienced in cockatoos. They have fallen in love with him, he loves getting his head scratched and loves to dance, especially too The Unicorn Song! They are working with Clicker Training him and working on minimizing his bad habit of attacking shoes! We'll have more details on Mitri's personality and quirks as they get to know him better. If you're interested in adopting Mitri, please contact us. A Cockatoo is a huge commitment! He's not available to families with young children or to smoking households. All potential adopters will be asked to meet Mitri a couple of times prior to adoption. His adoption fee is $450.00 and does not include his cage, but includes all other accessories including some perches, toys, dishes, etc. He has been given a complete Well-Bird Medical Exam including a complete blood panel, testing for major diseases, nutritional imbalances, metal toxicity, etc.

These two piggies are still in need of names! They were rescued from bad conditions and had a bad case of mange when they arrived! They have been treated and now, a month later, their fur has almost completely grown back! The larger brown piggy is missing an eye that the vet said was likely caused by an aggressive cagemate, of which there were many in his old home! They would like to find a home together that will give them all of the love and care they crave!

Smokey and his brother Bandit are looking for a home together! This will be their third home, having been adopted twice already. Unfortunately, they've developed the habit of peeing outside of the litter box out of stress from being rehomed. Their newest family has been amazing, trying everything they can think of to help them, to no avail. They are going to foster them until we can find them a new, loving home in a barn or safe warehouse. This home will need to commit to providing them with high quality food and medical care, in addition to a warm place to sleep. They are very friendly and affectionate. They both love human contact and will need help adjusting to barn life. They would be great for a riding lessons facility or somewhere where they'll recieve a lot of love and attention, but where their litter habits won't be as big of a concern. They are both neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and have been checked out by our vets to ensure the peeing isn't induced by a medical issue. Their adoption fee, for the pair, is $30.00

Burma is a very handsome kitty who was abandoned on the streets when his owners moved. He was found by a concerned citizen and neutered by Voice for Animals Humane Society before coming to the rescue to be rehomed. He has a gorgeous medium length coat that's softer then any cat you've ever felt and he's very playful and full of energy! He loves other cats but hasn't been around dogs before, so we're unsure of how he gets along with them. He had to fend for himself on the streets for awhile, so he can get a bit rough during playing and wasn't used to cuddling or being held at first...but he's coming along in leaps and bounds every day! He has recently started coming up onto his foster moms bed for cuddles and pets. He is very outgoing and not skittish or feral at all, so he was obviously not born on the street. He has been an indoor cat since his arrival and although he would like to go outside, he doesn't whine and complain at the door. Burma's foster mom just loves him and says he is a joy to have around. The vet believes he is between 8-12 months old. His adoption fee is $80.00

Meet Azriel, a lucky boy indeed, as he was very close to being handed a fate he doesn't deserve! His owners were going to abandon him when they moved, but one of our foster families heard about his plight in time. They took him in, and now he's looking for a new home! He is approximately two years old, neutered, and vaccinated. He's very good with his litter box and doesn't have any destructive habits. He shows signs of abuse and is very sensitive about being touched on his hindquarters, and defensive with other cats and with dogs. He'd do best in a home without small children and as the only cat or dog! He is very sweet and loves to talk (he's quite vocal) and cuddle. He has a very unique coat, which we believe to be chocolate/gray smoke, meaning half of the hair is dark and half (to the root) is white or cream. His eyes are also very unique, almost white with a tint of green. He's definitely a very handsome cat! His adoption fee is $80.00 and includes a food and water dish, some toys, and his remaining vaccinations in the set. He is currently at a loving foster home.

Pita is an absolutely beautiful silver tabby with very unique markings. She was surrendered with her kitten when he was only 3 days old! Her kitten has been adopted now that he is weaned, and Pita is ready to find herself a new home! She is very sweet and loves to cuddle and sleep with her foster families teenage daughter. She isn't very fond of dogs but could get used to them with time, but she enjoys playing with and bossing around her foster families resident cats. She's definitely the Queen in the house! She loves to sit in the bathroom sink, especially when somebody is in the shower. She was spayed on the 5th of May and has healed beautifully. She's now ready for a new home of her own! Her adoption fee is $120.00 and includes her vaccinations, spay, tattoo, dishes, and some toys.

Hades is a 2 year old Black and White Argentinean Tegu who has been through a lot with us! Please visit his page on the "Current Rescued Animals in Need" page. He has now recovered successfully from his ordeal and is on the lookout for a new home! He is quite friendly once he's out of the cage and will only get better with increased one on one attention. He has a voracious appetite, eating rats, mice, chicken hearts/gizzards, whitefish, banana and melons, moistened timothy and alfalfa hay cubes, pigeon eggs, deli-fresh dog food, beef heart, snails, and pretty much anything you offer him. He's picky with veggies though! He requires a VERY large cage, at least 12'Lx4'Wx4'H in size. His adoption fee is $40.00 and includes his plants and logs, hide, and two heat lamps.

Lily is a gorgeous senior citizen just looking for a loving family to retire with! She is approximately 17 years old. She was found on the streets, starving and cold, and although she has a tattoo, the limited information it provided was long past useful. Attempts of finding her old home proved unsuccessful. Although she had been adopted into an amazing home, they unfortunately had to return her to use due to extreme personal circumstances. Lilly is a very sweet and social kitty, who loves nothing more then to lay your chest while you pet her. She is good with quiet, friendly, older animals and older kids that are respectful of her. She is looking for a quiet home where she will be lavished with love and attention for the rest of her years. She has a silky, sparse coat thanks to her Rex Blood, but she's not hypoallergenic! She also boasts the kinky whiskers and long slender tail, adding to her beauty! She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and has recently undergone blood work and a urinalysis. Her adoption fee is $50.00 and includes her plush pyramid, her scratching post, food and water dish, and bed.

Reece is an adorable three month old male dwarf bunny. He is very sweet and outgoing. He loves to come out of his cage to visit and run around. Like most dwarf rabbits, he is very active and requires a lot of free time outside of his cage daily. He's just a baby and is still working on his litter habits, which will surely improve once he's neutered! Neutering rabbits is essential, as unneutered rabbits spray urine and tend to become aggressive. We are fortunate to have access to affordable neutering, so his adoption fee is only $50.00, which includes his veterinary exam and clearance, neuter surgery, a small bag of food, a toy, and food dish.

Birdy is an adorable little maroon bellied conure who has found himself looking for a new home! His parents own a business out of the country and have found themselves out of Canada for longer and longer periods of time, leaving Birdy with family members. All of the moving, getting settled, and moving again is getting to Birdy, causing him to pluck his chest during times of stress. They feel it in his best interest to find a family who don't travel as much, and Birdy agrees! Birdy is quite the little clown, and always has something to say, muttering under his breath, piping up with a "Hey Birdy" as needed. He's very active and playful, and craves being part of the family and amongst the action! He is very outgoing and wants to go to a home without cats or untrustworthy dogs as he's not afraid to approach them! Like most parrots, he can be picky about who he likes, and it can change. Whoever adopts him has to understand that he's a parrot, with his own individual personality and quirks! Potential adopters will be required to meet Birdy a couple of times prior to adoption. His adoption fee is $200.00 and includes his cage, toys, and accessories.

Vida (Standard) and Mira (White Pied) are two beautiful, peaceful ringneck doves. We believe that Vida is a male and Mira is a female. They are in love and need to go to a home together, that will be diligent in removing their eggs and replacing them with wooden dummy eggs to prevent reproduction. They love to come out of the cage and fly around, and are easy to catch. They usually just let you pick them up, and depending on their mood, they'll sit on your hand or let you pet them. They are very gentle and never bite. They need a large cage that allows for flight, and are perfect for aviaries with finches. They currently live in an aviary with four zebra finches. If you think you can offer them a loving home, their adoption fee is $30.00 and they come with a small bag of food and two dishes.

|
We have two pairs of Zebra Finches who were previously kept in a small enclosure, as a group, with no nesting material, and consequently plucked one another quite a bit. Now that they have been separated and have access to large flight cages, their plucking has almost completely ceased. Their feathers are taking thier time growing back though! If you can open up your heart to a pair of bedraggled finches, let us know! They need room to fly and they cannot be allowed to reproduce! Their adoption fee is $12.00 per pair.

Roxy is a beautiful elegant female bunny who was rescued as a stray from a local car dealership known for it's 'feral rabbit' problem! She was captured as a young baby by a concerned individual and brought to us to be rehomed to a loving family. She loves the good life and is tame and eager for attention. She is becoming very affectionate with her foster humans and loves to flop down at their feet while they are at the computer. She is quite confident and loving. Her adoption fee is $60.00, to help with the price of her spay fee. Female Rabbits must be fixed as 80% die early from Ovarian Cancer which is virtually eliminated after spaying. It also reduces aggression and greatly helps with litter habits!

ANIMALS AVAILABLE SOON! These animals, for whatever reason, are not ready for adoption quite yet.

Icarus the iguana is currently undergoing medical care. He is suffering from paralysis from the waist down due to a common form of neglect. In order to process calcium and vitamin D3 properly, reptiles not only have to be supplemented, but they must be provided with adequate UVB lighting. Otherwise, they suffer from metabolic bone disease. Icarus was very lucky that he was rescued by a caring family who didn't want to see him killed by his uncaring owner. He won't be up for adoption until he has regained mobility.

Rooster the pigeon was found on the side of the road suffering from a wing injury that has already begun to heal, in the wrong position! How many people passed this poor pigeon by without helping him? Finally a caring soul decided to take him in, and now he is undergoing veterinary care in hopes of regaining some flight back.

Sam is A Mitered Conure who is suffering from a number of issues. Althought the person who surrendered her loved her a lot, she was not always able to provide the best life for her. Certain things were out of her control but she did the best she could under the circumstances. She showed how much she cared for her by surrendering her to a rescue so she could have a more stable envoirnment. Bird owners often don't realize how much effect their envoirnment can have on theoir bird's physical and mental well being. Cigarette smoke is very bad for birds, especially ones that pluck or over preen. It is very important for a bird to have cages that are made of non toxic metal and a diet free of daily sunflower seed is essential. Sam may have a number of reasons why she has plucked nearly all of her feathers, but she has been like this for over 10 years; she came to her previous owner in this condition. Sam shows some stereo typical behaviour, such as rocking and turning circles and she is totally in love with her mirror.Sam will need extensive vet care and rehabiltation before being rehomed and she may just become a permaneant member of our flock.

Birch the boa was surrendered on the 24th. She went to see Dr.Kwantis at the Park Veterinary Clinic a few days later, as soon as he had an opening. Birch is suffering from anorexia (she hasn't eaten for a year), Oral Stomatitis (Mouth Rot, a mouth infection), and she's severely dehydrated and stuck under 3 or 4 old sheds. We've been soaking her frequently and were able to pull two layers of skin from her eyes, but they're still cloudy and they may be permanently damaged. Dr.Kwantis believes that she was at one point in much better condition and that recent husbandry is likely the cause of her current state. He was unable to find any mites on her but was concerned about areas of inflamed scales and the fact that she is very pale, something that is usually attributed to mites. She received a shot of Ivermectin anyways, and if we notice any mites in the bath we'll give her a second treatment. She is now on antibiotics via injection which she receives every two days and we are continuing to soak her.
