Unfortunatley it seems more often then not that we see people keeping their pets in innapropriate conditions, or providing improper care. A lot of these people obtained the animal on a whim, with little research. Research is the KEY to keeping your pet healthy, happy, and in the best of shape for it's entire life.
So many people are unprepared for the maintanence, dedication, and work required in keeping their animal, don't take into consideration their future and whether or not they will still be able to care for the animal within it's lifetime, they don't consider the space required, vet bills, a potential move...
Adopting an animal is a serious decision. You have to take into consideration the animals lifespan, the amount of attention and handling it requires every day, the amount of maintanence and cleaning it demands, the animals general care, the potential vet bills involved as well as regular annual vet care, and whether or not your future will allow you to keep a pet. Are you moving? Having kids, and won't have time? Getting married to a potentially allergic fiance? The better educated you are on the care and requirements of your pets, the better your experience with your pet will be!
Over the years, we have compiled a variety of extremely helpful sources for research, including forums and message boards. Be sure to read a variety of different opinions, and to get involved in the forums and communitys provided to learn more about your animal!
